Burgundy Mist was a ’59 Oldsmobile colour that was used as a custom colour by Fender from 1960 to 1965. It’s a metallic finish with a quite striking lavender hue. This colour also lends itself to using a tinted topcoat over it to create the effect of aging. This will result in a beautiful nearly copper-like hue.
This finish is a single component acrylic paint. It allows to apply the colour in a very even way, giving a spectacular metallic appearance. Its important to finish the applied coat with a clear polyurethane or nitrocellulose finish over it, to protect the plating and add depth.
